It was fun having John’s parents come visit from Utah and meet Eliza. Here’s a couple pics of Eliza with Grandma Sharpe. She is 6 weeks old.

Eliza’s Blessing Day–6 Weeks
John’s parents came into town to meet Miss Eliza when she was 6 weeks old. We blessed her while they were here. It was our first time taking Eliza to church (You could say I was a little overly cautious about exposing Eliza to germ-infested strangers). My mom, John’s parents, and some of our good friends were able to come on this special day. It was so great to have family together for this important occasion.
Eliza has an unlimited number of expressions. She is always making us laugh! She’s such a blessing! Doesn’t she look adorable?
And some family pics. The light was awful outside (as in nonexistant) and it was cold and rainy so we had to use flash for these pics.

The SleepSack–39 Days
Eliza is an amazing sleeper. We have been so lucky. My cousin Karen sent us a cute blanket and burp clothes before Eliza was born and gave us the advice if we could learn to swaddle her well, she would be a good sleeper. In the hospital they used Halo SleepSacks for all the babies. They recommended these over swaddling in blankets because they had Velcro and were less likely to come unswaddled and less likely to cover the babies face. They gave us a coupon so we bought one in the hospital gift shop on our way home. Eliza slept through the night for the first time when she was 17 days old. I panicked in the morning when I woke up and she was still sleeping, I poked her to make her move and make sure she was breathing. Of course that was an isolated incident but she did start sleeping through the night around 6 weeks (don’t hate us). We know we are so SO lucky to have such a good sleeper! I like to tell myself that using the SleepSack has contributed to her excellent sleeping!
We wanted to capture a picture of Eliza in her SleepSack because we thought she looked like a little bean!!
Thanks Karen for the great advice!

First Walk Outside–38 Days
Eliza was born in February which is in the dead of winter here in Minnesota. The day she came home from the hospital it was –6 degrees F outside but felt like –23 degrees according to the weatherman. Eliza didn’t go outside very often. We had a fleece cover for her carseat for the seconds she spent outside going to and from the car. So when it “warmed” up we were excited to take Eliza outside. I think it was 50 degrees or so but it felt SO warm! We just walked around our neighborhood. Unfortunately the “nice” weather didn’t last…

Mason’s First Birthday!
We got invited to Mason Rose’s first B-Day party! John grabbed some pictures to capture the day. Mason is the cutest little boy. He is so happy and is always smiling or laughing! Happy Birthday Mason!
Nice yawn Eliza…
Mason LOVES bananas so Kristin made him a banana cake. I need to get that recipe b/c it was delicious!
Mason is so animated! This picture definitely shows his personality. (And I love how he has his foot resting up on the tray)
Thomas, Kristin, & Mason, we are SO glad you moved back to Minnesota!

Eliza & Daddy–33 Days
John loves to comb Eliza’s hair in different ways when she gets out of the bath. Here he decided to slick it back… Not one of her best looks! Just a couple random pics of Eliza and John:

Post Bath Hair–30 Days
I love Eliza’s hair when she gets out of the bath. It has a little curl to it. However, once it dries it is crazy stick straight. I’m hoping she gets a little wave in her hair. My hair is super straight and I would kill for some wave/curl!

Eliza–1 Month
Eliza is now almost 3 months old and I’m finally posting her 1 month pictures. I go back and forth whether I should try to catch up or just skip to current. Right now I’m still trying to catch up but that may change soon.
Here’s what John said about these pics on his blog:
“I just cannot believe how quickly time flies. Eliza just passed the one month mark. It’s sad how quickly they grow. We are already seeing her outgrown some of her newborn clothes This past month as been one of the most rewarding of my life. Of course, taking a care a newborn has not been too easy, but Eliza sure is a great little baby (we are very lucky), Sadly, I feel that Eliza is growing so fast that my camera has not been able to keep up. Hoping to do better. For now, here are some images from the past week. She has really started to develop an adorable personality. Her facial expressions just melt my heart.”
This is how all photo shoots end… with Eliza crying.
You can see Eliza is starting to chub up!!
